Career Change Counselling
The world is in a constant state of change and occupations and opportunities exist now that were unimaginable 10-20 years ago, even five years ago. It is said that 10,000 hours takes you to mastery in a field/occupation. Many will specialise at this stage of mastery. Others will consider jumping tracks and trying their hand at something new.
Career Change Coaching is suitable for those who have come to a cross-road in their career.
Are you looking to re-enter the workforce and renew your career?
Have you taken a break from your career to raise a family?
Are you looking to make a midlife career change?
Are you stuck, frustrated or dissatisfied in your present role and considering alternatives and new directions?
Have you outgrown your current career and looking for a new way to express your values and use your talents?
Are you wondering what’s next and how to make a career change?
Strategic Career Management provides career change advice. A career change counselling consultation with one of our Professional Career Consultants builds clarity, confidence and a focused approach to building your career change plan, setting you up for a successful next chapter in your career.
Career Change Counselling: What is it?
Career change counselling sessions are individualized one-to-one discussions with a career management expert that provide practical, professional career change guidance. Through an introspective, challenging process, we will help you explore your career questions in a constructive and illuminating way and set you on a path to achieving a fulfilling career.
In supporting you to create a career-life map, we focus on your core strengths, motivated skills, interests and values and help you balance this with your practical needs.
We are idealistic and realistic.
As part of your consultation, we will co-build a tailored career change action plan that provides you with clarity, energy and direction to achieve a career that is both personally and financially profitable.
Our career change guidance will give you the edge and point you in the right direction for your next career chapter.
What’s included and how does it work?
A career change counselling session includes:
One-to-one Consultation with a highly trained Consultant + Career Assessments + Career Action Plan
Prior to your appointment, we will email you the instructions for completing the Career Assessments. You will also be asked to provide a copy of your resume prior to your consultation.
Your consultation will be tailored specifically to your needs. Depending on your personal situation and priorities, topics which may be covered include:
Identify your key strengths
Explore your values, what interests and motivates you and articulating you’re passion
Define your career priorities, whether this is a change of job or a change of approach: and develop a longer-term plan
Create a “wish list” of what you’re looking for in a job – a set of criteria against which you can assess job/career options
Explore potential careers which combine your strengths and interests
Identify career options that fit with what you want
Analyse your transferrable skills
Discuss the gaps between your current skills and those you’ll need to achieve your goals
Identify potential “road bumps”; brainstorm how these may affect your plans and develop mitigation strategies.
Provide feedback on your resume and LinkedIn profile
Map out practical next steps with detailed Career Change Plan - an action plan to help you on your path to realizing your new career direction.
After your consultation, we provide a report summarizing the discussions and key insights. The report includes career ideas, provides additional information and outlines your step by step action plan to set you on the path to a new beginning.
We can meet with you in-person in our office in West Perth or via Skype/Zoom.
