Strategic Career Management’s Myers Briggs Type Indicator (“MBTI”) team building workshops are fun, interactive workshops where participants discover things about themselves and others that help improve the way they communicate and work with each other.  Specifically, the MBTI workshop is designed to help:

  • Improve participants’ understanding and awareness of their own personality and how this drives behaviour and thinking

  • Participants understand and appreciate their colleagues’ personality type

  • Identify possible sources of misunderstanding and conflict in the workplace

  • Build stronger team and client relationships

  • Employees communicate more effectively

  • Improve individual and team performance

  • Reduce workplace conflict and stress

  • Participants learn how to adapt to the different needs of others

  • The team appreciate their group strengths and weaknesses

  • Create a greater appreciation of the value of diversity and difference

About the MBTI

The MBTI instrument is based on Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type.  It is the best known, most trusted personality tool available today and is used by over two million people around the world annually.  The assessment organises people into one of 16 personality types and indicates preferences in four dimensions:

  • Where you focus your attention and get your energy – Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I)

  • The way you take in information – Sensing (S) or INtuition (N)

  • How you make decisions – Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)

  • How you deal with the world – Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)

These four dimensions provide a wealth of information about a person’s preferred way of operating.  It is important to remember that the assessment is not intended to be prescriptive.  MBTI results must be validated by the respondent, not just explained to them.  The person must consider how the results apply to them, recognising that personality is something that is unique to each individual.
